Lollapalooza 2011: Day Three
From there, we caught a bit of Little Hurricane’s White Stripes-derived set on the Google+ Stage and then went to see alt-country singer Ryan Bingham. He sounded sharp, especially when he “turned up the volume” for “Bluebird.” After that we joined the throngs to hear the Cars, who delivered spot-on renditions of hits such as “Let the Good Times Roll” and “Moving in Stereo” to a crowd that was largely too young to remember when they were big on the radio. We saw some of Cage the Elephant’s set but when the heavens opened up unleashing not one, but two separate storms on us, we headed for cover over at the Eleven City Diner, a terrific Jewish diner that serves up a mean lemonade-vodka and serves breakfast all day. You can’t go wrong with their French toast.
