New Travis Barker Documentary Debuts on Hulu
Punk rock isn’t known for having produced great drummers, but Blink-182’s Travis Barker is the exception. He plays with real finesse, something that has made him a sought-after session guy. Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear, a documentary about his life, debuts today on Hulu and Hulu on Disney +. Ten years in the making, the film made its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June.
After surviving a devastating plane crash that nearly took his life, Barker embarks on “a raw and redemptive journey,” as it’s put in a press release. Once a trash collector in Laguna Beach, his life changed when joined the San Diego punk band.
“Yet beneath the spectacle of fame, the film reveals a complex man battling pain, grief and the thin line between survival and surrender,” reads the press release. “Featuring appearances from collaborators, cultural icons and those closest to him. This is the story of the man behind the tattoos. A tribute to those who keep going when the music almost stops.”
Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear is produced by Media Weaver Entertainment. Justin Krook and Michael Dwyer directed the film, and Matthew Weaver and Nick Stern produced it. Executive producers include Lawrence Vavra and John Janick.
