New Podcast Explores Artists’ ‘Musical Journeys’

Past, Present, Future Live!

In the attempt to “deepen the connection between artists and fans through the power and intimacy of audio storytelling and bring people together for unique musical experiences,” Osiris Media, home to 35 podcasts per month, will debut Past, Present, Future, Live!, a new weekly podcast series that explores an artist’s musical journey in four parts.

Through interview and live performance, Past, Present, Future, Live! offers a conversation between artist and audience that covers “a lifetime of influences, learnings, and personal anecdotes.”

From their first music lesson to the first paid gig, these are stories from the unique journey that is the life of an artist. We’ll discuss early inspirations, creative process, what’s driving them towards the future, and everything in between. Full audio episodes will drop every Tuesday, and video of each live performance will be available on the Osiris website and YouTube. An accompanying curated playlist chronicling the music and artists mentioned in each episode will also be available on the Osiris site and on Spotify.

“We wanted to create a show that taps into the power and spontaneity of musical discovery beyond a typical interview,” says Executive Producer Adam Caplan in a press release. “We envision this as part podcast, part live performance. In each episode, listeners will get to know an artist in a personal way, see an exclusive sampling of their favorite material, and learn about new music they can explore with greater perspective and appreciation.”

“We are consistently trying to push the boundaries of what podcasts can bring to music fans,” says RJ Bee, CEO of Osiris Media. “Every artist I interview for this show teaches me a lot I didn’t know before, and I hope our audience will learn as much as I have. We’re excited to debut this new show for music fans everywhere.”

Season one premiered June 2, and the first four episodes feature Eric Krasno, Rhett Miller, Marco Benevento and Ted Leo.
