Devon Allman to Launch a Virtual Tour
Singer-guitarist Devon Allman just announced that he’ll embark on a virtual tour this week. Allman, who plays in the Allman Betts band with singer-guitarist Duane Betts, will change themes from show to show.
“One night will be cover songs, one night originals, one night Q&A live, one night special guests, one night request hour, etc.,” he says in a press release about the performances, which he’s dubbed the We Are Still All Together Tour.
Gibson Guitars and Earthworks Audio will supply the musical gear that’ll be used as giveaways over the course of the performances.
These performances will be “pro-shot” on a “pro camera rig,” so they should look great. Professionals will be on-hand to mix the sessions and add video intros, outros, fading and transitions on the fly.
On a weekly basis, the Devon Allman and Allman Betts Band websites will list the upcoming performances and the theme of each gig. The shows will dream live on the Devon Allman Facebook Page and then appear the next day on other social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram etc.
There will be a virtual tip jar in place to donate with proceeds going to help the Allman Betts Band touring crew stuck at home because of the current crisis. ” Our Allman Betts Band road crew is unemployed like all road crews out there, we’d like to encourage fans to make a donation that will go straight to them,” says Allman.
Man, it is going to be fun to go on tour from the house.
“I really miss the energy of the stage and the interaction with our amazing fans,” says Allman. “I really hope this makes our fans feel good during these crazy times and that we can just hang out and have some fun together. I’m going to work hard to keep each show unique. Gibson has given us some guitars to give away and some other companies like Earthworks Audio and Meyer Sound Labs are stepping to the plate as well . . . see y’all soon!”
This week’s shows are slated to take place tomorrow, March 25, and Friday, March 27 at at 7pm Central and on Sunday, March 29 at 4pm Central.
