MusiCares and Light in the Attic teamed up to present Light in the Attic & Friends at Home, a live charity concert that streams beginning at 4pm PST on April 3 on Twitch and YouTube

MusicCares provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need, and Light in the Attic has released 200-plus titles worldwide. The label has released music from acts such as D’Angelo, Donnie & Joe Emerson, Sixto Rodriguez, Serge Gainsbourg, Betty Davis, Karen Dalton, Lewis to Lifetones and the list goes on and on.

Light in the Attic & Friends at Home features new performances from artists whose music LITA re-released over the past 20 years, along with a handful of talented friends from the around the globe, each covering songs from the label’s catalog. All donations go towards MusiCares’ COVID-19 Relief Fund, assisting those in the music community affected by the pandemic.

While quarantined at home – from Rio to Tokyo; Cardiff to Austin; Barbados to Italy – the musicians performed from the privacy of their home.

Acts such as Texas soul queen Barbara Lynn, Fred Armisen, British folk legend Michael Chapman, Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker, Italian composer Gigi Masin, singer-songwriter Devendra Barnhart, Brazilian great Marcos Valle and My Morning Jacket’s Jim James will perform.

The concert also features the Free Design’s Sandy Dedrick, Japanese ambient pioneers Inoyama Land (Kankyō Ongaku), the Black Angels’ Alex Maas, Money Mark, singer-songwriter Lynn Castle, Super Furry Animals’ Gruff Rhys, Leonard Sanders of the modern soul-gospel group the Supreme Jubilees, jazz great Azar Lawrence, Grant & Frankie Olsen (Gold Leaves/Arthur & Yu), Beach Boys poet and lyricist Stephen John Kalinich, Acetone’s Mark Nightcap, Sessa and Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard.
